Let’s see how I take on my adventures and creative 2025 bucket list!
This year’s bucket list might sound/read more like a goallist. But hear me out! From the summer of 2023 till autumn 2024 I was very restricted in what I could do. In case you are new here on the blog… Hi! I changed my last name. This was a long process from start to finish and there were many things I couldn’t do in that time just because the name change news could drop any minute and I would have to do a lot (A LOT) of administration. Like renewing my passport, driver license and many more things.
Anyway, you can imagine that I had to hold off on a lot of dreams and goals. So 2025 is going to be the year that I do things that make me feel free or finally be able to enjoy my private time again. Also, I am not going to lie, there is still a lot of unknown about my future this year. This is in regards to my business and where I might be living later in the upcoming months. My business will go international this year (whoop, whoop!) and I am planning on moving. Will I be immigrating or will I be a nomad again? Only time will tell. Right now I am simply enjoying life again and everything on this bucket list are things to make me fall in love with life a little more day by day.
1. Doing something every month that makes me feel alive
When I basically couldn’t leave the house for months on end, you probably understand this year I want to make it my mission to do something fun every month. Something that makes me feel alive. This could be anything! Going on holiday, concerts, trying out something new… you name it.
In the blog “Bucket list ’25 update #1 | London, concert & writing” I go into depth about the first two months.
January: London, baby!
February: Going to a concert.
March: Leipzig Book Fair, finally a big book fair ticked off my bucket list! Not just that, it was a book fair in Germany that is known for their large-scale marketing on a lot of fronts. Also at the same time and place Manga Comic Con was going on. And I also had Leipzig on my travel list for a while now. So it was a win-win-win situation, haha. I had an amazing time in the city and fair for a week and I am actually thinking about going again next year, cause there is still so much more I would like to explore. Both the city and the fair, since I also liked how much I got to use my German skills. Besides I didn’t really tap into everything that the city itself had the offer of the fair being in town. I am planning to get an apartment or something like that in the city centre, so I can enjoy the evening events much more. This year I stayed in an apartment in the south and was a bit out of the way of the city centre, but luckily had a direct line to the place where the book fair was.
April: Sooo, I did something… Something I had planned for a further away future, but here I am announcing that I am setting up a new company! I am going to split my work for That Blonde Woman in two. A part of what I did under the name of That Blonde Woman felt not like the right fit for it. But creating a new company is also daunting, since you have to factor in multiple things. So I decided to get an extra name under the name of That Blonde Woman. I wished I could already announce the new name of my second company, but life decided to throw me a curveball, so I will tell another day. But I am really excited working each day to unlock a dream I had for a long time.
2. Finish my manuscript
Super funny that in the last update I mentioned I had a breakthrough, well let me tell you… I had another one! The ideas have been popping into my mind like crazy over the last few weeks. I have worked a lot on structure in the last two months and wrote down probably the most important scene of the story. The scene that will carry the whole book. I struggled for some time how I could put that scene centrestage, I think I wrote it down as the most important hook of the story. The next two months I want to work on writing the other scenes since I have the structure down.
3. Explore my storytelling
In the last few years there have been so many life changing things in my life. Both bad and good. I want to explore how this impacted my storytelling, grow with it and learn new things. I’ve been having such a blast with videography, but there is still so much to learn. However, storytelling is also writing, this blog, my business and many more things. This is an adventure that amazes me each day.
Setting up a new company asked a lot of my storytelling skills, so I was mostly focused on that and also working on my manuscript. For the next two months I want to focus on how I can put my storytelling to use in my social media presence.
4. Staying in a castle
Depending on how long you’ve been following this blog, you probably know all the unique places I’ve lived. From an estate to a museum. So the next logical step seems to me to stay at a castle, right?
Still not yet. [insert cry face]
5. Become a polyglot
Let’s go! At the end of last year I joined a language learning community. It has been amazing to get to know like minded people all over the world and helping each other with language goals. It’s fun to share experiences and tips on learning. Studying languages brings me so much joy! Over the last few years it even helped me with exploring my storytelling when it comes down to writing.
I have done a lot of immersion thanks to the many travels so far this year and my time living in Austria and trip to Leipzig. That makes it that I mostly studied German during the first four months of the year. For the next two months I want to focus on Korean and French.
Conclusion – My 2025 bucket list
A list filled with joy, learning and exploring. And I have been very active in achieving all these goals. There are still eight months left of this year and I am very excited to keep on working on these dreams. I can’t wait to go on my next adventure, it won’t be a travel destination this time around, but rather other kinds of adventures.
How is it going with your bucket list?
Love,
