Basically, what I have been up to so far in 2026.
Personal goals – bucket list style
Besides my bucket list I have personal goals for each year, however some of those goals fit the bucket list vibe. During each update I will share some of those things that I have been up to over the last two months.
In January I went to London to see one of my dear friends again. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary as friends and visited the Marie Antoinette Style exhibition at V&A. I was also able to get VIP for BTS this upcoming summer and lastly I had my highest earning month with my company. All of these blow my mind as you can imagine. Seeing my friend who lives on the opposite side of the world is a privilege I worked extremely hard for. Getting tickets for BTS, let alone VIP, was based on pure luck. On top of that, I am now picking the fruits of my over a decade long career that has come to the point that even a month as January (normally my lowest income month) turned into my highest so far in my career.
February started off with me still in London. I shopped a lot over there and even got myself my first luxurious perfume and designer cosmetics. This may seem frivolous, and it truly is in a way, but these items are things I have been saving up for since I fell for the amazing scent of the Dries Van Noten perfume and the beautiful colour of the Dior lip product. I considered it also as a small treat for myself after my highest earning month.
Wasn’t even a week back from London or I booked a last minute trip to see the Stray Kids dominATE Experience in cinema. Honestly, sitting still this month wasn’t in my vocabulary. By the end of the month I found myself in Amsterdam, but what I was doing there will be a story for the next update.
Stay in a castle
Depending on how long you’ve been following this blog, you probably know all the unique places I’ve lived. From an estate to a museum. So the next logical step seems to me to stay at a castle, right?
Yeah, I know… this one has been on my list forever! And I just need to find a nice castle, make a plan and book it. My plan for now is to make it happen in the second half of the year, since the first half is already booked with other trips. To stay in a castle after I finished my biggest work project to date, sounds like a fun gift to myself. I am currently an interim and I will be either on the job till summer or autumn. So whenever that project is fully delivered, I plan to take some time to myself and finally make this oldie of a bucket list point happen.
Take a cooking class abroad
Learning a language is learning a culture filled with history and food. I have fun in the kitchen with both cooking and baking, but taking a cooking class abroad always sounded amazing to me. So why not make it happen?
Immediately in January I started taking this point seriously. As of right now I have plans to go to Paris in autumn. There I want to take a pastry class which I have already picked which one I want to do. Now it’s just about booking!
Take a language class abroad
My language study time is sacred to me. Languages shaped the trajectory of my life. Because of my dedication to my studies I have been able to land multiple workpositions. With that I was able to go on adventures (abroad) and do the things I love. I think it would be so cool to do some language classes when I am abroad. So far, when I am abroad, I have only done immersion and practiced with natives and that has been amazing too. But I would for sure level up even better when I would follow classes and do immersion all at the same time.
We aren’t even that far into the year, but I already found out this point is going to be super tricky! In the next update I will be able to explain why, but this will likely either happen in December or just not at all this year. It feels a bit like a downer to already know that I won’t be able to make this happen. But on the other hand, it is because of a very amazing reason that is a much higher goal of mine to reach.
Visit 3 new places
An oldie but a goldie on this year’s list. I have done this bucket list point multiple times on my blog, just because I think it is fun and important to push myself to discover new things and places. So far most of my travels I have already planned for this year are to places I have been to before, which is amazing, but I also believe it’s a good thing to shake things up and do something new.
What I already know for sure is that I will be going to Munich (Germany) this summer. Other new places I hope to visit are either close by like other places in Germany and Austria, or all the way to Asia. But like I mentioned earlier, there is a big update I can share during the next update, that will determine how my 2026 will turn out for the most part. It will influence where I will travel to. Seriously, I can’t wait!
See BTS in concert
Four years ago I pledged to myself that I wanted to see BTS in concert. It’s wild to me that I was 26 back then and now I am 30. I got older, but my wish stayed.
Back in January when the first half of the tour was announced I did not hesitate and booked my hotel in a city I have had on my list to visit for a very long time (Munich!). When the ticketing presale happened, I literally don’t know how, but I got the exact ticket I hoped to get. So I am going to make it happen; see BTS in concert!
How is it going with your bucket list?
Love,
