I found a bit of home in the supermarket

A small piece of my day written down.

Eleven years ago last month I took the train to England. Started the next chapter of life in Exeter, a wonderful city that became home to me.

During the week I studied and worked, so I could explore on weekends.

It was during one of those weekends I found myself in Bath. It was an incredibly cold day, but high tea warmed me back up.

As soon as I took my first bite of the cake I knew I had to explore every British sweet treat.

On one of those weekends off in Exeter I found a place that was to be said had the best scones in town. Some dodgy stairs led me to a café, in a building you would not expect to host one.

Looking over the city, there it was… some of the best scones I’ve ever had! Clotted cream and jam on fresh baked scones.

This brings me back to today. I recently moved inside the Netherlands, finding my way in town. When I noticed something in a dimlit aisle. A bit of nostalgia of a county I once called home, my dear Devon.

Love,
