Let’s see how I took on my adventures and creative 2025 bucket list!
This year’s bucket list might sound/read more like a goallist. But hear me out! From the summer of 2023 till autumn 2024 I was very restricted in what I could do. In case you are new here on the blog… Hi! I changed my last name. This was a long process from start to finish and there were many things I couldn’t do in that time just because the name change news could drop any minute and I would have to do a lot (A LOT) of administration. Like renewing my passport, driver license and many more things.
Anyway, you can imagine that I had to hold off on a lot of dreams and goals. So 2025 was going to be the year that I did things that made me feel free or finally be able to enjoy my private time again. Also, I am not going to lie, there was a lot of unknown about my future in 2025. But the most important thing was that I simply enjoyed life again and everything on this bucket list were things to make me fall in love with life a little more day by day.
1. Doing something every month that makes me feel alive
When I basically couldn’t leave the house for months on end, you probably understand this year I want to make it my mission to do something fun every month. Something that makes me feel alive. This could be anything! Going on holiday, concerts, trying out something new… you name it.
In the blog “Bucket list ’25 update #1 | London, concert & writing” I go into depth about the first two months.
January: London, baby!
February: Going to a concert.
In the blog “Bucket list ’25 update #2 | Leipzig, storytelling & writing” I go into depth about the third and fourth month of the year.
March: Leipzig Book Fair.
April: Created a new company.
In the blog “Bucket list ’25 update #3 | French & Rebirthday” I go into depth about the fifth and sixth month of the year.
May: A2 level in French!
June: Celebrated my Rebirthday.
In the blog “Bucket list ’25 update #4 | VIP at a concert” I go into depth about the seventh and eigth month of the year.
July: Being VIP at a concert.
August: Made (long term) future plans.
In the blog “Bucket list ’25 update #5 | getting VIP & learning something new” I go into depth about the ninth and tenth month of the year.
September: Getting VIP for a 2026 concert
October: Learn something new; annotating
NEW
November: Booked a spontaneous trip
So I haven’t been on this trip, but it was a trip I thought I couldn’t make. Honestly I am still wondering if I am even able to with my current workload, but I am going to do it anyway. Just because. I will see my friend from the States. I get a chance to travel to London again. And I guess… just live! So in late January I will travel to the country I called home exactly 11 years ago. Can’t wait to hug my friend, catch up with her in the pub and enjoy the city.
December: Worked with a Korean company
Well, my December was an interesting one. My mom and I moved to a new town, and we are still in the process of getting everything done around the house. But then I realised I hadn’t mentioned in the month of September that I achieved a long-term bucket list goal: working with a Korean company! So this is basically an honorary mention of something that happened earlier this year, but I simply don’t want to forget, cause it is such a huge milestone.
2. Finish my manuscript
How much I would have loved to have finished the manuscript… There are also certain things I am waiting for before writing it. Every writer is different. I am very much a writer who likes to sit with things for a minute and experience instead of looking at a screen without typing, other times I just write no matter the experience or well crafted thought process. Currently I am in the first mindset, which makes sense. My private life is quite intense with the move and at the same time levelling up in other areas.
I am sad I didn’t finish writing my manuscript, cause I really hoped I would have been able to. Then again, I have to remind myself, I did write a LOT! I started writing more and more essays on the blog and in general my blog posts have been on the longer side. And that was exactly the reason why I landed the gig with the Korean company. Sometimes you have to (temporarily) let down one of your dreams to make another one happen.
3. Explore my storytelling
In the last few years there have been so many life changing things in my life. Both bad and good. I want to explore how this impacted my storytelling, grow with it and learn new things. I’ve been having such a blast with videography, but there is still so much to learn. However, storytelling is also writing, this blog, my business and many more things. This is an adventure that amazes me each day.
Setting up a new company to social media posts, from writing lots of musical essays to working on my manuscript. 2025 was for sure the year I experimented to get a better understanding of how I have grown as a storyteller. Can’t wait to keep on exploring in 2026, but also lock in a part of my storytelling to show “this is me as a storyteller”.
4. Staying in a castle
Depending on how long you’ve been following this blog, you probably know all the unique places I’ve lived. From an estate to a museum. So the next logical step seems to me to stay at a castle, right?
Okay, so I was actually really close to making this happen. But what happened? Well, we bought a new house. No, but seriously, I was planning to spend my winter abroad (again) and on my way over to my temporary apartment I found this castle where I would have loved to stay for one or two nights. But then when we toured a house in The Netherlands we had a good feeling about it so I delayed finalising my trip. Now I am really glad I did, since the homeowner accepted our offer.
It’s kinda sad since I was so close to reaching this goal, but then again I can’t believe how much I travelled at the start of this year and all the places I have been to. And having dreams for the future is always a good way to live.
5. Become a polyglot
Let’s go! At the end of last year I joined a language learning community. It has been amazing to get to know like minded people all over the world and helping each other with language goals. It’s fun to share experiences and tips on learning. Studying languages brings me so much joy! Over the last few years it even helped me with exploring my storytelling when it comes down to writing.
Am I a polyglot? I want to say yes. There is still so much work left, but I am fluent in two languages and have at least A2 level in three languages. I can’t wait to make my language goals for 2026 so I can level up and who knows… hopefully get fluent in three languages in the upcoming year. But I already feel confident enough to say I am a polyglot due to my high understanding of different languages. For example, with German, I have C1 level in reading. My speech might be currently stuck at B1, however in conversation I understand B2 level.
With Korean I can even hear when watching a show if the translation is correct or not, or when the nuance doesn’t exist in English.
Can’t wait to make even more progress in 2026 with German, Korean and French!

Conclusion – My 2025 bucket list
A list filled with joy, learning and exploring. Except for staying in a castle and finishing my manuscript, I did everything and many more things!
I adored 2025 for so many reasons, but mostly for all the travels I was able to make, concerts I saw and how much I levelled my skills up. I truly cannot wait to do it all over again but better in 2026. But first things first, I need to write my 2026 bucket list!
Did you make your 2025 bucket list happen?
Love,
