My studious and adventures 2026 Bucket List

Let’s dive into all the escapades I hope to do this year.

“Sacrifice for what you want”
Every year I keep a word or sentence in mind that I want the upcoming year to reflect. When I sat down and thought about everything I had done in 2025, I noticed many good things and I am aware that I had done the things that fitted my life at that very moment. But I wasn’t able to fit everything in that year that I had hoped. So for 2026 I want to level up. That means I need to dig deeper and hold space for things that matter to me most.

For example, I wished I was able to do more with my language studies. Also I wasn’t able to write as much as I hoped. Lastly, and this was something completely out of my control, I moved. Now, I am very much aware that I lived a very rich life in 2025 in the sense of the amount of travels I was still able to make, and I always had new work projects. Nevertheless, I want to up my game, but more importantly… I want to experience, go on adventures and learn new things. Both my language goals as my bucket list reflects my cravings for studying and adventure.
Making “sacrifice for what you want” my 2026 mantra is the perfect fit for me! Anyway, let’s dive into all the escapades I hope to do this year.

Stay in a castle
Yeah, I know… this one has been on my list forever! And I just need to find a nice castle, make a plan and book it. My plan for now is to make it happen in the second half of the year, since the first half is already booked with other trips. Honestly, to stay in a castle after I finished my biggest work project to date, sounds like a fun gift to myself. I am currently an interim and I will be either on the job till summer or autumn. So whenever that project is fully delivered, I plan to take some time to myself and finally make this oldie of a bucket list point happen.

Take a cooking class abroad
Learning a language is learning a culture filled with history and food. I have fun in the kitchen with both cooking and baking, but taking a cooking class abroad always sounded amazing to me. So why not make it happen?
Where to start? Right now I am thinking about taking a pastry class in Paris. But who knows where all my other trips will take me. That’s also the joy of adventure, you will just see what happens when you’re there. Maybe I will find myself in Italy and learn how to make my own pasta.

Take a language class abroad
My language study time is sacred to me. Languages shaped the trajectory of my life. Because of my dedication to my studies I have been able to land multiple workpositions. With that I was able to go on adventures (abroad) and do the things I love. I think it would be so cool to do some language classes when I am abroad. So far, when I am abroad, I have only done immersion and practiced with natives and that has been amazing too. But I would for sure level up even better when I would follow classes and do immersion all at the same time.

Visit 3 new places
An oldie but a goldie on this year’s list. I have done this bucket list point multiple times on my blog, just because I think it is fun and important to push myself to discover new things and places. So far most of my travels I have already planned for this year are to places I have been to before, which is amazing, but I also believe it’s a good thing to shake things up and do something new.
For this bucket list point I have many places in mind, like Hamburg (Germany) or maybe I should really take it to the next level and go to Korea and Japan. How fun would that be? Like I said before in this blog, I don’t know yet when my current workposition will end, but once I do I will plan and book everything.

See BTS in concert
The main reason why I took my time to upload this blog was because I didn’t want to jinx my luck until it was certain. Here is the thing, 4 years ago I pledged to myself that I wanted to see BTS in concert. Back in 2022 the guys announced their hiatus as a group due to military service. Not long after it was announced they would be back in 2026. It’s wild to me that I was 26 back then and now I am 30. I got older, but my wish stayed. Once the first half of the tour was announced I did not hesitate and booked my hotel in a city I have had on my list to visit for a very long time. Last week the ticketing presale happened and I literally don’t know how, but I got the exact ticket I hoped to get and even in the city I already booked my hotel. So I am going to make it happen; see BTS in concert!

What is on your bucket list?

Love,
