A bit of Taylor Swift and a lot about Stray Kids, new video out now!

Wauw, I am in love with the new Japanese album by Stray Kids. I am honestly thinking about also collecting the Japanese albums since they absolutely rock! Honestly I hope one day I can go to a Stray Kids concert in Japan, that must be a completely new experience. So prepare to hear a lot of Stray Kids chats in this video, cause not only did they drop an album, they also announced a Korean album… and I also got tickets for their tour! And yes, I got VIP, but I will talk more about how I got these tickets in the video.

The video is spanning over multiple weeks since I was constantly waiting for merch to arrive, but luckily it all came in on time before my big trip. Yes, I am travelling! Well, actually I am moving temporarily, but more about that in my next blogpost.

In this video
– Future language plans
– Taylor Swift merch
– Jin (BTS) new album “Happy”
– Le Sserafim “Star Signs”
– Stray Kids new album “Hop” announcement
– Getting VIP tickets for Stray Kids DominATE Tour
– Stray Kids “Giant” Japanese album review, also a short written version over here:

Giant
Their MV is so different from what they have done before, but it still fits their lore. How? Please don’t ask me anything about their lore, cause it’s so complicated and even though I have done so much research, I have the feeling there is still so much left to be explored.
Anyway, in the MV each of them is bringing their egg (aka specialness/talents) together to create one big egg (Stray Kids) is such a powerful image.
I also love the wordplay with Gi-ant: an ant analogy, because ants are small but can carry a lot of weight. But an ant can’t survive on their own, they have to all work together, just like Stray kids, and they are stronger together.

When diving into the lyrics it’s interesting to see that they are talking about when personality traits become fixed once in the later half of your twenties. It’s the era that the kids are currently entering. Ambition, working hard, keep coming back stronger.
It sounds that they are proud of how they are growing up. And that’s an interesting growth after their last Japanese comeback Social Path

Chk Chk Boom (Japanese version)
Love it on this album! It’s such a strong song that fits the concept of this album.

Night & Falling Up
Songs for the anime “TOP”, I love how strong and powerful both songs sound. I also like that these kinds of releases make it on an album. In general an OST doesn’t make it on an album and that is such a pity since these kinds of songs deserve more recognition. Cause there is so much work put into these songs.

Why?
This song dropped so randomly a couple of months ago as the theme song for the Japanese television drama Re: Revenge – Yokubo no Hate ni. I don’t have anything more to add then what I also said about the previous two songs.

Saiyan
The guitar had me hooked! This song feels like what comes after Giant. In the lyrics you can read that they constantly want to push boundaries and are making direct comments to certain people who want to bring them down.

愛をくれたのに、なぜ / Love Is Painful
Again… that guitar! The vocals in this song are next level how they all bring it together on a track that has very intense lyrics.

Christmas Love
Imagine a park somewhere in Japan where you can hear this song every 15 minutes. Well, that’s real! And I love that especially since this song feels like it’s made for Stays (Stray Kids fans) with the 143 hidden message.
This song is a strong contrast to their “Christmas Evil”, “Christmas Love” sounds very loving with an almost musical/play kinda vibe.

Love,
