Sinds kort heb ik weer een abonnement op Storytel en ik ben van plan om een graphic novel te gaan lezen in de maand april.

Dit verhaal staat al even op mijn lijstje van verhalen die ik ooit wilde gaan lezen, maar ik was nog aan het wachten tot het tweede deel ook op Storytel zou gaan verschijnen. Zodat, als ik zou willen, meteen verder kan gaan lezen. Ik heb namelijk bij verschillende recensenten gezien dat dit een heerlijke duologie is om na elkaar te lezen.

Het eerste deel vond ik een fijn verhaal toen ik naar iets wilde luisteren zonder dat ik me al te veel hoefde te focussen. Het is perfect voor onder het bullet journalen of tijdens andere rustige taken. Ik hoop dat hetzelfde geldt voor het tweede deel.

Naast audioboeken vind ik e-books op Storytel ook prettig, daarom was ik heel erg blij toen van dit boek ook een e-book online kwam.

Ik ben dol op dichtbundels, maar het is inmiddels al weer even geleden sinds ik er eentje voor laatst heb gelezen. Tijdens het rondneuzen op Storytel kwam ik bovenstaande bundel tegen en de flaptekst maakte mij meteen nieuwsgierig.
Heartstopper: Volume Two – Alice Oseman

Het afgelopen schooljaar was niet geweldig voor Charlie, maar hij wordt in ieder geval niet meer gepest. Nick, rugbyster van de school, heeft hier en daar wat gehoord over Charlie – de jongen die vorig jaar gedwongen uit de kast moest komen en een paar maanden werd gepest – maar hij heeft nog nooit met hem gepraat. Tot ze naast elkaar in de klas komen te zitten…
Er ontstaat een warme en intieme vriendschap en al snel valt Charlie als een blok voor Nick, ook al weet hij dat hij geen enkele kans maakt. Maar Nick worstelt met zijn eigen gevoelens en hoe dichter de twee naar elkaar toe groeien hoe duidelijker het wordt dat liefde ontzettend onvoorspelbaar en verrassend is.
Het enige fysieke boek op mijn lijst! En wow wat heb ik veel zin om deze graphic novel te gaan lezen. Ik had namelijk niet verwacht dat ik het eerste deel zo leuk zou gaan vinden dat ik het zelfs inmiddels al meerdere keren heb gelezen.
