Wegens een enorme leesdip heb ik afgelopen maand geen enkel boek uitgelezen, hopelijk brengt deze TBR daar verandering in!

Jaaaa, K-drama en mijn liefde voor boeken zijn samen één boek! Perfectie dus! En ik denk dat het een heel fijn boek is om te lezen nu ik in een leesdip zit en hopelijk helpt dit boek me eruit.

Een tijdje terug zag ik dit boek per toeval voorbij komen en toen ik hoorde dat het volledig in vers geschreven is, wist ik meteen dat ik het wilde gaan lezen!

Nog een historisch boek! Het eerste uitgegeven verhaal van de auteur, The Silence of Bones, vond ik super goed. De research die Hur heeft gedaan om een deel van de geschiedenis van Korea te vertellen, heeft ze onwijs puur gedaan. Al schuwt ze ook zeker niet weg om het rauwe gedeelte te vertellen.

XOXO geschreven door dezelfde auteur is een van mijn lievelingsboeken die ik las in 2021. Ze schrijft heel prettig waardoor je als lezer steeds verder wilt lezen. Tegelijkertijd weet ze karakteristieke elementen van K-drama’s in haar verhalen te stoppen. XOXO ging over K-pop, maar dit boek is gebaseerd op een Koreaanse mythologie.
Nova – Rebecca Yarros

Het eerste deel van Rebecca Yarros’ Renegades-serie, “Wilder’, gaat over Leah.
Zij krijgt de kans om een jaar lang te studeren aan boord van een schip dat de hele wereld over vaart. Dan moet ze alleen wel een medestudent bijles geven én hij moet slagen.
Eitje, denkt ze, want Leah is zelf een topstudent. Als iemand een ander iets kan bijbrengen, is zij het. Maar dan ontmoet ze haar leerling: Paxton Wilder.
Hij is ongelofelijk aantrekkelijk, en ongelofelijk niet bezig met studeren. Wilder maakt deel uit van een stuntteam, de Renegades, en daar leeft hij voor. Het zal haar dus heel wat moeite kosten om hem de nodige stof bij te brengen. Maar misschien heeft hij haar ook wel wat te leren.
Tijd voor een reread! De verschillende settingen in deze trilogie vond ik meteen fantastisch! Je komt er meteen in een vakantiestemming. Door het grootste gedeelte van het verhaal op het cruiseschip afspeelt, leest het verhaal best wel als een soap, maar dan wel een goede variant. Oké, ja soms is het verhaal ook wel een beetje over de top. Al kan ik daar wel van genieten met name nu ik een enorme leesdip heb.
