Het verhaal in het eerste volume eindigde met een cliffhanger en dat terwijl ik zo in het verhaal zat! Ik had niet door dat deze serie een paranormale twist had. Ik had het eigenlijk de flaptekst vooraf niet gelezen en de manga gekocht op basis van wat ik aangeraden kreeg op YouTube. Ondanks dat ik nauwelijks verhalen lees met een paranormale twist, genoot ik enorm van deze manga. Maar ook over het verhaal in het algemeen ben ik zeer te spreken en ik vind de slow-burn zeer goed geplaatst.

Steven haar boeken zijn mijn auto-buy. Ze komt altijd met iets nieuws en dat vind ik zo tof. Ze limiteert zich niet in welk genre ze schrijft en deze keer komt ze met een geheel nieuw genre.

XOXO geschreven door dezelfde auteur is een van mijn lievelingsboeken die ik las in 2021. Ze schrijft heel prettig waardoor je als lezer steeds verder wilt lezen. Tegelijkertijd weet ze karakteristieke elementen van K-drama’s in haar verhalen te stoppen. XOXO ging over K-pop, maar dit boek is gebaseerd op Koreaanse mythologie.
