The 10 Years Milestone Year

The most fun thing about 2025? It was my milestone year!

Walking around in 2025 felt almost unreal. Only mere months before the fireworks of that year went off, I dropped a name to let another one bloom. Moved temporarily to a city I had never been, but seemed to call me. I saw the illuminating sparklers from my apartment right next door to a castle I admired since I was a kid. My desire to travel was reignited. I couldn’t stop. So I didn’t. I went back to a lovely place in Germany and headed to the Netherlands for a quick stop. Before I turned around and travelled the long way across the pond by going under. I saw multiple countries in a blink, but nothing could top my time spent in London meeting with a dear friend.

Danced my heart out at concerts on the same days as I had business meetings. Life is for the living I called out while mine took me to Germany for an amazing business trip. By return my travels came to a halt to join multiple projects with various companies. That’s how I spent the rest of the year till the move to another town in the countryside.

During the year I was thinking about how it was my 10 years milestone year. I did a lot of things already for a decade or even longer! Here is the thing, I started working incredibly young. My first office job was at the beginning of 2015 as I had just turned 19 years old. To be honest, I actually started working even earlier. I worked as an actress at the age of 16, and after a while I started my own production company to travel through the country. But my life as an actress brought me abroad. Sounds exciting? Well, in the end I rather traded it in for a deskjob. Not to live a 9-5. Oh no! To me an office job started as a tool. A way to create a life as a freelancer.

Starting that particular career and doing it my way, would not have been me, if it didn’t involve a twist. It all started with getting on a train under the sea that took me to England. Sounds familiar? Well, funny enough I did the exact same thing twice but a decade apart. It was even the same date as it was back then. But the difference?

Back then I went as a 19 year old girl with so many dreams.
This time around I went as a 29 year old woman because I made my dreams happen.

A 19 year old moved her life to a different country with an EU scholarship.
A 29 year old created a life for herself that makes it possible to travel as much as she wants.

Going to England was not the only similarity between 2015 and 2025. It was the exact same month, April, I looked for new work and started the month after. But the difference?

In 2015 I relied on my hope of getting the job which I was able to get because people knew me from this blog.
In 2025 I was asked for projects, because I have been around long enough for people to know my name beyond the header of my site.

Naturally the past year became my year of taking some time to be grateful for everything I have done in the past to get me here. Workrelated, all the solo travelling and… just go with the flow. I always did my best to catch the highs, and to go through the lows.

10 years after I made the biggest ripple effect of my career.
10 years after I went on my first solo travel adventure.
10 years after I started the next chapter of my life.

My biggest lesson of 2025? I became who younger me dreamed of becoming.

What does this mean for 2026? My teenage years are behind me, my twenties were last year and now I am just past the doorstep of being 30. Moving towards tranquility seems for me the answer with the occasional adventure, of course. I want my bucket list to be whimsical, my goals to hone my skills and level up. My speech to indicate my desire for all that is still to come, while I take my time to get there. Just because I love the journey best.

Love,
