This album post contains: Weird Garlic, Béchamel White and Strong Spices.
In total I have four favourite groups within the K-pop industry: BlackPink, BTS, Stray Kids and… Le Sserafim. But while I only became a fan of the other groups later, I was a fan of Le Sserafim right from the start. Three and half years ago, this girl group debuted with two Koreans, two Japanese (one of the girls even studied in the Netherlands!) and a Korean American. In K-pop terms, this is a diverse group and that is also reflected in the music. I’ve already posted several album and merch unboxings from this group in the past, and also my Spaghetti review over here.
The normal version of Spaghetti has, just like previous albums, three different versions of the album. Each with a completely unique style that all fit the concept of the group: vol. 1 Weird Garlic, vol. 2 Knocking Basil, vol. 3 Cheeky Neon Pepper.
Le Sserafim is the only group I go out of my way to check out multiple versions of their albums before they release. Just like during the Crazy and HOT era I bought multiple versions this time around. The order was all placed at the Dutch webshop Kyeopta.
Vol. 1 Weird Garlic
How do I choose which version I get? Well, I actually always get vol.1, so I don’t need to think about it. Funny enough vol. 1 is most of the time my fave one. Also in this case where we can spot the Fimmies at a typical market in Korea.

This design! It’s so incredibly clever and I am happy to see the team behind the Fimmies put so much effort into a single album. The details mentioned on the outside of the box are next level. Instead of the actual cooking time of pasta, it mentions how long the songs take together. On the side and back of the package you can find even more information. But I will leave that for you to discover!

Let’s cook up some… goodies!
1x CD
1x Photobook | 84 pages
1x Lyric Paper
1x Postcard
2x Sticker
1x Photocard (random) | 1 of 5
1x Folding Poster

The photobook is designed like one of those old school cook books. The flip through has been a fun experience. I also really like the double sided poster. The front has the girls in the same concept as the photobook. And the back…

Has nutrition facts aka everything you need to know about the songs.

Some other fun goodies like stickers and a postcard go well with the meal, I mean album.

The mini CD has a single spaghetti on it, how creative? Lastly, I found the pc in another fun package. This time around I pulled Yunjin.

Weverse Album – Version B: Strong Spices
5x Photocard (random) | 5 of 10
Love me some strong spices! I have been ordering the Weverse album from time to time so I know I have a complete pc set with all the members.

Compact – Béchamel White (group version)
Once I saw that the Compact version was going to be magazine style, in other words what Le Sserafim normally does for the normal version, I knew I wanted to get it!

A plate full on the CD and other info:
1x CD
1x Photobook | 32 pages
1x Postcard
1x Photocard (random) | 1 of 5 | Béchamel White ver.
1x Sticker

This time around I pulled Sakura!
You can never go wrong with stickers as a goodie. Le Sserafim has been doing this since the very first album and have never let go of the idea. I love that I know what I can expect in their albums and that it are all things I actually use.

Same goes for the postcards that I love to frame during each comeback for my music shelves.
Taking control
This single album is a powerful comeback that contains the sound of artists who’ve moved past grief, past defense, and into their own peace. With “Spaghetti” reflecting the chaos of being consumed by the public and “Pearlies” reflecting gratitude for the ones who stayed. The mini-album “HOT” was made when the heat was still on, but “Spaghetti” is what they serve now, bon appétit!
During multiple interviews Yunjin mentioned that this single album, in particular the song “Spaghetti”, was her idea. While Le Sserafim was still deep into their promotions for their last mini-album “HOT” Yunjin was already thinking about what’s next. She started developing the idea and presenting it to the company.
“Spaghetti” is for sure the start of a new phase in Le Sserafim’s career since they are the ones who are slowly gaining more control of their artistry. The members have always been involved with producing and writing, but this time around they are taking control of everything.
You can read all my thoughts in the blogpost, How Le Sserafim serve change with “Spaghetti”.
Once again, thank you to Kyeopta for delivering and the Le Sserafim’s design team for creating an album very fitting for this comeback!
Love,
