Hoe graag ik het ook zou willen… helaas wordt niet alles vertaald naar het Nederlands. Of het is nog niet bekendgemaakt of het is überhaupt nog niet op de radar bij Nederlandse uitgeverijen. Vandaar dus dat ik ook altijd een lijst bijhoud met Engelstalige boeken die verschijnen.

In mei komt de nieuwe Bourne uit!!! Dit boek lijkt me zo’n heerlijke drama en ik ben heel benieuwd hoe de auteur deze keer in haar schrijfstijl is gegroeid.

Aangezien K-beauty steeds groter wordt, viel me dit boek meteen op. Ik ben voornamelijk nieuwsgierig naar de setting en in hoeverre het boek ingaat op de zakelijke ideeën.

Wat mij meteen opviel is dat Maskame een geheel ander soort boekcover dit keer voor haar boek heeft. Zal dit te maken hebben met dat de inhoud van Becoming Mila geheel anders is dan haar andere boeken? Deze zomer zullen we het weten!

Yes, eindelijk weer een nieuwe Matson!! Dit boek doet me denken aan Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist. Ik kijk er in ieder geval al naar uit om te lezen wat deze twee vriendinnen binnen een nacht uitspoken in de stad die nooit slaapt.
The Box in the Woods – Maureen Johnson
Amateur sleuth Stevie Bell needs a good murder. After catching a killer at her high school, she’s back at home for a normal (that means boring) summer.
But then she gets a message from the owner of Sunny Pines, formerly known as Camp Wonder Falls—the site of the notorious unsolved case, the Box in the Woods Murders. Back in 1978, four camp counselors were killed in the woods outside of the town of Barlow Corners, their bodies left in a gruesome display. The new owner offers Stevie an invitation: Come to the camp and help him work on a true crime podcast about the case.
Stevie agrees, as long as she can bring along her friends from Ellingham Academy. Nothing sounds better than a summer spent together, investigating old murders.
But something evil still lurks in Barlow Corners. When Stevie opens the lid on this long-dormant case, she gets much more than she bargained for. The Box in the Woods will make room for more victims. This time, Stevie may not make it out alive.
Johnson komt met een nieuw deel in de Truly Devious-serie! Na de trilogie komt deze keer een stand alone met dezelfde hoofdpersoon als in de originele serie uit. Deze keer gaat de hoofdpersoon een mysterie oplossen buiten de campus van haar school. Ik zit in ieder geval al op het puntje van mijn stoel.
Zoals het nu lijkt (als ik naar deze lijst kijk) ga ik de komende maanden voornamelijk contemporary lezen. Welk genre denk jij dit voorjaar en in de zomer veel te gaan lezen?
